The general theme of the  studio is the preservation of buildings. This semester we focused on the buildings of Arch. Zvi Hecker. In pairs we were asked to formulate a documentation file for the building, to formulate significant elements for its preservation and to plan a continuation of the structure. We chose the Beit Dubiner building, designed by architects Zvi Hecker, Alfred Neumann and Eldar Sharon in the early 1960s in Ramat Gan.
Inspired by Hecker's method of work, the design of the addition to the building was done on the basis of a polytope unit that served as the base unit for planning. By connecting the units in different ways, we have created diverse spaces that serve both public and private programs.

There is detailed planning for the ground floor, the roof floor and a typical residential unit.
The selection of the unit's shape, location, and various programs reflects previous work of the fund.
In addition, we have redesigned the area surrounding the building by grading the area with terraces, demolishing the fence surrounding it and placing the new units. We have created a deeper connection between the existing structure and the street.
