The studio project deals with the value of "infinity," in the way it is expressed in the world in the natural, periodic and eternal movement of the earth, and its decisive influence on space and life on earth
However, it seems that the lifestyle of most of the world's population is designed on the basis of time and space units that artificially divide the world, which is hardly based on the infinite nature of nature (but on other human needs)
Unlike the circular nature of the Earth, space and time are divided by humanity through straight lines derived from a linear rationale. These lines are stretched across the map of the world and help in reading the space definitively, with defined boundaries, such as borders between countries, units of time like hours and minutes and different time zones. Which vary in date and time and vary according to the borders of the countries and their location on the globe
This distribution creates a gap between natural space and the way most people perceive it
The project deals with these artificial lines and focuses on the international date line, which creates a hierarchical separation between the various parts of the ball and is designed in a way that illustrates this gap by perpetuating the boundaries and location of the line,
The project site is on the international date line between two islands on Earth, Diomede islands, which illustrate this gap. The physical distance between the islands is only a few kilometers, but according to the indices of humanity, the distance between them is so great that it is completely cut off; They are in a 24-hour gap, separated by 27 hours, and separated by their belonging to the continent and sovereignty
The origin of this definition of human separation is the invention of the international date line that separates the two islands. Due to the location of the project on the border, an intermediate space is created that neutralizes the influence of the artificial borders
The structure is vertically stretched from the point in the subterranean ground where the line passes. Our design is done so that the docking system, the movement and the energy transitions to its various parts are made through the vertical continuation of that imaginary line
The method of anchoring the structure to a line is based on chains and cables, which are not rigid, and thus subject to the influence of natural movements, of air and water
The structure is designed to allow it to be a freak, so that its parts can function independently (temporarily). Therefore, although the structure is anchored to the international date line
The origin of the idea of ​​the structure's program, its appearance and function is in the typology of the air ships, which are often used for observation purposes, and that their movement and internal space are strongly influenced by air movements
